Topic Fish: Downstream Migrant Trap Totals NF Elk 1988
 
Caption:  The California Department of Fish and Game operated a downstream migrant trap on North Fork Elk River periodically from March through July 1988 in order to estimate coho production. This chart shows that in 1988 North Fork Elk River supported a fish community dominated by coho salmon with young of the year (0+) with yearling coho (1+) far outnumbering steelhead and other species. CDFG estimated the number of juvenile in North Fork Elk River in 1988 as 33,465 young of the year and 2,130 yearlings. Click on Info Links for more information.
