| Caption: The Chart shows the cumulative size distribution of bed surface particles in Fairfax Creek in fall, 1999. The median particle size (D50) for samples ranged from nearly 20 mm to slightly larger than 30 mm. Selected bed surface particles were measured for each sample using the 'pebble count' method (Wolman, 1954) as a way to determine bed roughness for the sediment model.
