Habitat: Box Plots of Residual Pool Volume by Stream Size |

    |
Caption:  The box-whisker plot above shows, for each stream in the Big River area, the distribution of maximum residual pool volume measured during CDFG stream surveys in 1995-97. Caspar Creek had the largest median residual pool volume (1287 cubic feet) among surveyed streams, but the largest 10% of pools in the North Fork Big River were over 3700 cubic feet and larger than the same percentile for Caspar Creek pools. Streams are arrayed by size: MF Caspar through Johnson are 2nd order, NF Caspar through West Chamberlain are 3rd order, Caspar through Chamberlain are 4th order, and the NF Big is 5th order. Query was run using KRIS Build Table functions. Data provided by California Department of Fish and Game, Sacramento. Click on Info Links for more information.
