Caption:  Water temperatures in South Fork Big River (Site 791) in 1996 peaked at 22.7 degrees C in late July. The optimal water temperature for salmonid growth (10-15 degrees C) was exceeded for all of summer, and the maximum diurnal temperature shift was approximately 4 degrees Celsius.
