Habitat: Scatter Plot Pool Depth All Humboldt Bay Tribs 1990-94 |
|
Caption: This chart shows habitat typing data collected by the California Department of Fish and Game from 1990 through 1994. Pool depth is a good indicator of fish habitat quality with deeper pools generally providing better cover and greater carrying capacity for salmonids. Knopp (1992) found that diminished pool volumes could be correlated with land disturbance. See Info Links for more information on use of habitat data in understanding aquatic health for salmonids.
