Aquatic Insects: EPT Index Salmon Creek, 1994 |
|
Caption: This chart was generated from aquatic insect data collected by the PALCO in 1994. The EPT Index is the number of taxa of mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies, insect Orders that are relatively intolerant of pollution. Salmon Creek EPT results show high diversity in the headwaters (25 species) and moderate diversity at downstream stations. Higher diversity is associated with intact ecosystems while lower EPT scores reflect environmental stressors. See Picture for location map.
