| Caption: The maximum daily water temperature of Elk Creek 3000 feet below the East Fork at Five-Mile Bridge from 1992 to 1994 is displayed above. The maximum temperature exceeded stressful for salmon and steelhead in June and July of 1992 and 1994 for at least brief periods. Both 1992 and 1994 were drought years. The temperature regime of Elk Creek was elevated as a consequence of the January 1997 storm, which decreased the creek's width to depth ratio. Data collected by the Klamath National Forest and assimilated by Tim Mahan on behalf of the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. See Info Links for more information. | |
