   Caption:  This chart shows the maximum daily water temperatures in 2000 of the Mainstem Salmon above, below and in Wooley Creek.  The water temperature in this reach of  the Mainstem was in the stressful range for Salmonids between July and September.  Wooley Creek appeared to have a cooling effect on the Mainstem during most of the summer and provided a cool water refugia for Salmonids during the heat of summer. Data were collected by automated temperature sensors called Hobotemps, which were anchored in flowing water in the shade.  Hobotemps were monitored by community volunteers and paid staff of the Salmon River Restoration Council.  Click on Picture* to see recent historical data.
