         PH: in Hayfork/Salt Creeks 1994-95 |

    |
Caption:  The pH is a measure of acid base conditions in water with neutral being a value of 7 with lower values representing acid conditions and higher values basic or alkaline conditions. The pH of Hayfork Creek and its tributary Salt Creek sometimes range to slightly basic but do not show wide fluctuations. Bodies of water with significant algae blooms may show major increases in pH as a function of photosynthesis. Data provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Weaverville, CA.
