Caption:  The chart shows the floating weekly maximum water temperature in Celsius (°C) of lower Elk Creek (Site 87-1) for the years 1997 and 1999-2001. Maximum floating weekly maximum temperatures did not exceed 18.3°C in any of the four years measured. Hines and Ambrose (1998) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly maximum temperature (MWAT) exceeds 18.3°C. Temperature data comes from automated water temperature data probes placed by the Mendocino Redwood Company.
