Caption:  Water temperatures in the North Fork Noyo at Noyo (site 01) peaked at ~19.8 C in early July, ~20.6 C in late July, and 19.4 C in August 1996 with diurnal temperature shifts of ~4.2 C, ~3.6 C, and ~2.9 C respectively. Seasonal variation in temperature was ~9.5 degrees C. The optimal water temperature for salmonid salmon growth of 10-15 degrees C (Brett, 1952) is shown for reference.
