Caption:  The canopy cover of Kass Creek was 92% with 8% open to direct sun according to an August 1996 habitat typing survey. The length of the survey was 15,990 feet or 3 miles. Conifers provided shade to only 24% of the stream while deciduous trees, such as alder and willow, provided shade to 68% of the length of the stream.
