Sediment: Road Densities in the Roaring Gulch Calwater Watershed |
|
Caption: This road density chart is for the Roaring Gulch Calwater watershed of Redwood Creek and shows that the density of roads here is relatively high. Studies in Washington State (Cedarholm, 1981) found that fine sediment in salmon redds increased as road densities exceeded 3 miles of road per square mile of landscape. Data are provided by Redwood National Park. Click on Info Links for more background information.
