Sediment: Road Densities in the Twin Lakes Calwater Watershed |
|
Caption: This road density chart is for the Twin Lakes Calwater watershed of Redwood Creek and shows that the density of roads here is relatively high. Interfluve areas are not shown here, but were included in calculating the Calwater average. Studies in Washington State (Cedarholm, 1981) found that fine sediment in salmon redds increased as road densities exceeded 3 miles of road per square mile of landscape. This value is shown as a threshold above for comparison. Click on Info Links for more background information. Data are provided by Redwood National Park.
