Fish: Mainstem Fish Community Canyon Reach Russian River 2002 |
|
Caption: This chart displays the fish observed during dives of the mainstem Russian River near from Hopland to Cloverdale (Canyon Reach) July through September 2002 as part of the Upper Russian River Steelhead Distribution Study (SCWA, 2003). The observations of steelhead were highest in this reach of all four surveyed (Cook, 2003). However, steelhead was not the dominant species in the fish community being far outnumbered by Sacramento suckers, California roach and Russian River tule perch. Young fish in the minnow family were quite numerous but not identifiable to species and are shown only as Cyprinids. Data collected and provided by the Sonoma County Water Agency. See the Picture tab for a map image of reach locations and InfoLinks for more information.
