   Caption:  This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperature at lower Mark West Creek (site MW1) for the years 1999 and 2000.  Floating weekly average water temperatures exceeded 16.8°C, during nearly every summer day both years. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C.  See InfoLinks for more information.  Temperature data comes from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Russian River and its tributaries by the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA).
