Caption: This chart shows 1998 floating weekly maximum temperatures in the Mainstem Sheepscot River. Sheepscot River temperatures increase in the downstream direction in July and into the fall. Floating weekly maximum temperatures exceed 22.5°C at all sites in July and throughout the summer months. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed this level. Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
