WQ: Secchi Disk Transparencies in Branch Pond |

    |
Caption:  This chart shows mean secchi disk transparencies measured in Branch Pond during the period of 1975-1999. These data were collected as discrete samples through the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program and sampling often happened between July and September. The error bars show the standard error of measurements made over a single year. Transparencies were generally greater than 3 meters. Unless a lake is highly colored or turbid from suspended sediment, transparency readings of 2 meters or less indicate a severe algal bloom (Williams, 2002). See individual sub-basin topics for the annual trends in transparency depths. See Info Links for more information.
