Fish: Wages Creek Trap, Total Catch 1999 |
|
Caption: The California Department of Fish and Game operated a fyke net in Wages Creek for 12 weeks, beginning March 29, 1999. Total numbers of fish captured in the Wages Creek trap show that yearling steelhead trout out migrants were almost four times more numerous than coho smolts (COHO_1YR). Numbers of fish trapped cannot be construed as a fish population estimate because of unknown trap efficiency and avoidance of the trap by fish at higher flows.
