Habitat: Pool Type Occurrence, Middle Fork and Tributaries |
|
Caption: The above chart may reflect coho rearing habitat quality in tributaries of the Middle Fork Ten Mile River by illustrating the relative proportions of scour pools, main channel pools, and backwater pools classified during stream surveys. Scour pools and backwater pools are associated with stream channel complexity and processes that create and maintain good fish habitat. Scour pool frequency varied from 36% (Gulch 27) to 68%(Bear Haven Creek), and backwater pool frequency varied from 1% (three streams) to 5% (Bear Haven Creek) at the time of surveys in 1995-96. Streams are sorted by basin area. See Info Links for more information.
