Habitat: Canopy by Type for Redwood Creek and Tribs |
|
Caption: CDFG habitat surveys measured the percentages of open, coniferous, and deciduous canopy for each habitat unit in 2001 surveys. Streams are sorted by size (stream order) and show the natural decreasing trend in open canopy from large to small streams. Although total canopy cover exceeded 80% for all first and second order streams (see chart table for stream order), coniferous trees contributed to less than 5% of stream canopy for most of those small streams. See Info Links for more information.
