Aquatic Inverts: Santa Rosa Cr Tribs EPT Taxa 2000-2002 |
|
Caption: The Sustainable Land Stewardship Institute conducted aquatic invertebrate studies of Santa Rosa Creek and its tributaries from 2000-2002. This chart shows the number of mayfly (Ephemeroptera), Stonefly (Plecoptera) and Caddisfly (Trichoptera) species found in each creek sampled by year. This EPT taxa index gauges health by the diversity of these pollution intolerant taxa. SLSI (2002) noted that "One of the most obvious features of the Santa Rosa reaches was the low numbers of mayflies, stoneflies, and caddisflies (EPT), taxa which are normally abundant in high quality small streams." Study conducted for the City of Santa Rosa. See InfoLinks for more information on sampling methods and findings.
