| Caption: This chart shows the number of alewives stocked in lakes and ponds in the Sheepscot River watershed in the years 1943-2004. Data prior to 1983 may not be complete. More alewives are currently stocked consistently into Branch Pond than any other lake in the watershed. Sheepscot Pond is no longer stocked. See Picture or Info Links for more information about alewives and their life cycle. Data were contributed by the Department of Marine Resources. | |
